Major Requirements
In all options, at least 32 hours taken at WCU must be at the junior-senior level to meet one of the general university degree requirements. Required 12 hours:
Three courses from the math electives with at least one course in the Computing/Modeling category and: To complete the program:
49 hours are required, including a second major or a minor in one of the following areas of application: biology, chemistry, computer science, economics, finance, geology, physics, or a program approved by the mathematics and computer science department head. Traditional Mathematics Option:
Required 18 hours:
one course from each of the four math electives categories, 201 and one additional course from any of the four math elective categories or other math courses approved by the mathematics and computer science department head, and: To complete the program:
43 hours are required, including a second major, a minor, or a program approved by the mathematics and computer science department head. Mathematic Education Option:
Must earn grades of C or better in the 25 hours of Core Courses in Mathematics. Plus two additional courses selected from the math electives or:
