Program Description

The program leading to the Master of Business Administration degree requires the completion of 36 semester hours at the graduate level. A minimum average GPA of 3.0 must be met in all MBA core courses to satisfy degree requirements. 

The curriculum focuses on the unique challenges in our regional economy, the need for global competitiveness, and the application of knowledge.  The program consists of a 24 hour core and 12 hours of electives.

Program Admission Requirements

In addition to the admissions criteria established by the Graduate School, the program also requires the following:

Test Scores

Optional.

GPA and/or previous degree

Applicants must have achieved an undergraduate grade point average sufficient to demonstrate likely success at the graduate level. A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is recommended. Greater weight is placed on grades during the last two years of an undergraduate degree program.

Essay or Narrative Statement

A personal statement, including professional/personal goals and interest in the MBA program.

Letters of Recommendation

Three letters of recommendation from professional and/or educational contacts.

Resume and/or Experience

Resume.

Additional Requirements

Personal interviews may be conducted.

Electives (12 hours)


Twelve (12) hours of  electives. Students may select courses from graduate business offerings as approved by the Director of Graduate Programs for the College of Business to satisfy the remaining number of elective hours. These approved electives can be taken from the any of the Graduate Certificates offered by the College of Business, the Master of Science in Sport Management, the Master of Entrepreneurship, and the Master of Accountancy. Courses in other areas can be used as elective credit with approval from the Director of Graduate Programs for the College of Business.
