Engineering Technology (Engineering and Technical Operations Concentration), BS


Total number of hours for the program: 120.

The College of Engineering and Technology offers upper-level courses for two-year college graduates at off-campus sites in addition to the WCU Cullowhee campus. Graduates earn a BS degree in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Engineering and Technical Operations.

The Engineering Technology (Engineering and Technical Operations Concentration) program is not accredited by ABET, http://www.abet.org.

Lower Level Courses (53 hours)


WCU lower level course requirements can be satisfied by transfer credit from the North Carolina Community College System as indicated below as “CC Courses.”

Courses transferred from other institutions besides the North Carolina Community College System are applied on a case by case basis.

Technical Requirements (12 hours)


Math and Science Requirements (20 hours)


If all courses are transfered from community college credit, this area can be satisfied with 20 hours. If additional hours are earned,  excess hours count toward general elective hours. Three courses (9 hours) from this area also meet Liberal Studies requirements.

Lower Level Electives (21 hours)


Any lower level technical electives from the following areas, including at least six hours of 200-level courses. No courses used to satisfy technical requirements or math and science requirements can be used to satisfy the elective requirement.
