Declaration of a major in Recreational Therapy does not guarantee admission into the program. Students must formally apply and be admitted into the program and before beginning the professional sequence of courses and/or proceeding into clinical placements. In addition to the academic requirements below, students are expected to adhere to the technical and professional standards of the program. When do students apply? Students may apply for admission to the major at any time after becoming a student at WCU.

Retention in the Program: Students admitted to the program must earn a grade of C or better in each RTH course in the major and must maintain an overall GPA of 2.50 to remain in the program.
