Total number of hours for the program: 120.
The program consists of 42 hours of liberal studies, 42 hours in the major, and a choice of either the Registered Dietitian or Community Health Concentration (42-43 hours) and general electives (9-10 hours).

Major Requirements
The major core requires 59 hours as follows (12 of which are included in the Liberal Studies Program):
Requirements:
To be admitted to either the Registered Dietitian or the Community Health concentration, students must formally apply and must meet the following criteria:
- Must have completed at least 62 hours of college credit and be enrolled in the first semester of the junior year of nutrition courses at time of application
- The 63 hours must include CHEM 132 and 133 (or higher), BIOL 140, BIOL 240, BIOL 313 and 293, MATH 170, ND 239 and 330
- Must have an accumulative GPA of 3.00
- Must have at least a “C” (not a C-) in all sciences and MATH 170
- Must have a least a “B” in ND 239 and 330
- Must understand that to obtain an internship at WCU after graduation, a least a 3.0 is required to apply
Registered Dietitian Concentration
The Registered Dietitian concentration requires 23 hours: Electives
General electives (8 hours) are required to complete the program.
