CS 472 - Introduction to Generative AI

A comprehensive introduction to modern Generative AI with a focus on Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic systems. This course will introduce the foundational concepts underlying transformer models and LLM architectures, the practical skills in using and prompting LLMs, and the methods for training, optimizing, integrating, and deploying customized models. Model performance, reliability, and safety will also be covered.

Prerequisites: CS 253 or (EE 221 and ENGR 350).
