CPE 370 - Distributed and Interconnected Systems


This course focuses on the engineering of distributed systems and interconnecting hardware, emphasizing scalability, reliability, and performance. Topics include switches, routers, load balancing and high-availability systems as well as efficient and fault-tolerant computing. It also covers traffic analysis, including end-to-end delay and throughput measurement using real-time monitoring and tuning tools. Through hands-on labs using Linux-based devices, students will work with computing network hardware to optimize transmission paths and implement high-speed interconnects. (3 credits; 2 lecture, 2 lab)

Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in ENGR 123  .
