EOE 626 - Interpreting the Natural World for EOE


This field-based course will focus on teaching and learning natural history in several outdoor locations. It will draw upon a variety of approaches from environmental education and interpretation. Topics covered will include plant identification, landscape interpretation, geomorphology, and field meteorology. Although science-based, the course will also integrate discussion of natural history literature into the class structure. Various methods for teaching natural history in the field will be demonstrated.

Prerequisites: Admission to the graduate program in Experiential and Outdoor Education or permission of instructor.
