NSG 809 - Social and Behavioral Health Problems Health promotion, assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health, violence, abuse, addiction and dependency disorders and related nursing, social and systems theories across the lifespan. This course provides students with the foundation needed to manage client health problems related to violence and abuse, addiction and dependency, and mental health problems that are commonly encountered in the practice of primary care nursing. This foundation is necessary for preventive interventions and clinical management of these disorders whether they present as the primary concern or in combination with other health problems.
Prerequisites: Admission to D.N.P. Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Credits: 3
