EDM 370 - Communication, Media and Emergency and Disaster Management

This course is designed to familiarize students with how media and emergency and disaster response connect.  Important topics to be covered are how media (social, news, and pop culture) can be a useful tool in preparation, response, mitigation, and recovery from disaster, as well as how media can work to the disadvantage of the emergency response cycle.  

Prerequisites: EDM 250  or permission of instructor.
