ANTH 421 - Cherokee Archaeology Explores the archaeology and indigenous cultural history of the southern Appalachian region, with a particular focus on the Cherokee Indian experience. Emphasizes the roles of indigenous archaeologies and collaboration with descendant communities in scientific inquiry, and uses oral tradition, documentary evidence, and archaeological data to produce nuanced perspectives on Cherokee culture.
