ENGR 331 - Design for Manufacturing

Various manufacturing processes are examined to understand the capabilities and limitations of each process. This knowledge is used to optimize mechanical designs to simultaneously improve manufacturability, enhance quality, and reduce cost. Specific content includes optimization of machined, injection molded, and sheet metal components as well as design for assembly and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Prerequisites: ENGR 231  and ENGR 350 .
