Total number of hours for the program: 126.
All courses in the B.S.E.E. degree in Electrical Engineering are offered on the Cullowhee campus.
Freshmen and transfer students accepted into the University with the request to be in the electrical engineering program will be further evaluated by the department. Based upon an overall evaluation of high school records and test scores, with particular emphasis on advanced courses in math and science and test scores, freshmen may be admitted to one of two tracks:
- FENG – Students with acceptable records will be accepted directly to the Freshman Engineering sequence. These students will be advised by electrical engineering faculty.
- PENG – Students needing additional courses before being accepted into the Freshman Engineering sequence will be advised as pre-engineers.
Admission to the Electrical Engineering program requires completion of ENGR 199, MATH 153, MATH 255, CHEM 139, and PHYS 230 with grades of C or better.
In addition to the University requirements for continued enrollment, students in the electrical engineering program must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.00 for all courses in the electrical engineering major. Failure to meet this requirement for two consecutive semesters will result in suspension from the electrical engineering program.
